Click here to see how to setup a Secondary (behind the scenes) Warehouse.
A shop can have any number of Secondary Warehouses. These can be operated in 2 ways:
- As a simple control mechanism to limit what can be ordered from Catalogues that have there "Take Account of Stock" set to true and their Warehouse set to the appropriate Warehouse.
- The stock in these Warehouses is normally updated automatically from an external source by regular processes / jobs that import stock values.
- In this case it is not usual for users to view or adjust the stock via the web in these Warehouses via the web as all stock updates should come from external systems and be made automatically. Note though that it is still possible to view and amend the stock in the Warehouse via the web interface.
- A full and independent Warehouse. In this case the Warehouse operates completely independently and should be an exact reflection of a physical warehouse.
For more information about how you can view and adjust stock in a Secondary Warehouse see the Adjust Stock page.
For more general information see the end user help on the Warehouse Based Stock System.
