SERVICE IMPAIRED - Thurs 25 Oct 2018 03:30 BST (02:30 UTC) - 10:15 BST (09:15 UTC)

UPDATED 10:45 BST Thurs 25 Oct 2018

At about 03:30 this morning our Live web server fell over. Our secondary server automatically started up and took over and is currently serving web pages for live.  Our engineers are investigating as a matter of urgency.

During this period there is a possibility that web pages will not be as responsive as we would normally expect.

Please do not upload any images or other fixed content via the management pages as they may not get transferred back to the primary servers when we switch back.

Thank you for your understanding as we investigate this further.

UPDATE

The root cause of this incident was a lack of disk space on the primary web server. Sufficient space was freed up to enable the server to function correctly at approximately 08:30 BST (07:30 UTC) at which time web services automatically switched back to the primary server. During this switch back logged in customers would have been logged out of the system. B2B apologises for any inconvenience caused during that transition.

Further work since 08:30 has identified that disk space became short due to a diagnostic logging function that was left switched on following work to analyse system performance in order to plan for future upgrades. This diagnostic logging now been turned off and the excess data removed from the system.  This work was completed at 10:15 and site performance appears to be back to normal.

B2B Internet Solutions would like to thank all users for their patience during this period of impaired performance and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
