Reporting Services

Some sites have reports that use B2B's Reporting Services website. To make full use of the reports the user will need:

  • An up to date browser (Google Chrome preferred)*
  • Javascript Enabled
  • Pop ups enabled

*Internet Explorer will function for most users however if a user holds many roles some reports that are restricted to a specific role + client code combination may not be visible when using Internet Explorer.

All permissions to reports are primarily controlled via role and there 2 ways a user could be given access to a report:

  1. You can give the user a role that already has access to the report - remembering that they will gain access to all reports that that role has permissions for and of course all that role's functions.
  2. A ticket request can be made to B2B to give a role that the user is already a member of permissions to a report. This can be at either a client code level or an all client codes level. All members of that role will then have permissions to it.  When using this method it is recommended that whenever possible it should be at the all client codes level as this simplifies management and compliance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are a small number of roles (Company ITAdmin and the Company Admin Level # where # = 1-4) that if given report access will be able to select to report on any client code, not just the one they used to access the reporting services site. Membership of these roles should therefore be granted only to users authorised to see data from other client codes

At the very minimum to use the reports a user will need the "ReportViewer" role.

On clicking the Reports menu option a user is taken to a page that asks them to confirm that they want to move to the Reporting Services site by clicking an additional button. If they do not have the Report Viewer permission this page displays an error text explaining that they do not have the necessary permission and no confirmation button is available.

On moving to the reports server the user is automatically logged in and a list of available reports is presented to them.

Should a user not interact with the report server for a period of 15 minutes or longer then they will be automatically logged out of reporting services and the next time they try to navigate withing reporting services they will be presented with a login prompt. To log in they will need to return to their SaaS shop and click the button on the reports page once more.  Only B2B systems administrators can use the reporting services log in prompt. The steps need to login are displayed both on the left of the main screen and in the pop up that will appear if the user clicks "Help Logging In".

B2B Reporting Services is built on the Community Edition of Tibco JasperReports Server
