At approximately 14:05 the web software flipped to displaying site outage messages. Sites were coming back on line by 14:07.
Investigations have shown that this was due to a loss of connectivity in the colocation facility where our servers are housed. The operators of the facility have confirmed that they had an issue with a network switch and there was a brief outage whilst failover took place. During this outage our monitors automatically switched users to seeing the Maintenance Page and then back to the shops sites once all was operating properly.
