I can't see Etherpad

Etherpad is the part of B2B Teaching suite that allows users to type and share text in a document.  Occasionally a user may find that they aren't able to see or use this tool, and this is due to good inbuilt security in modern Browsers.

  • Technical reason for the issue:
    • For end user data and user protection security on modern browsers has recently and quite rightly been tighten up (third party cookies are now blocked), and in order for Okta authentication to work properly and allow the etherpad application to be displayed when called for by the Moderator, users will need to enable Cross Site / Third Party cookies for the classroom site urls ONLY, specically the Ambassador Edge Stack sessionID cookie, to be used between the following sites:
  • How to fix it (as of 25th September 2020):
    • Depending upoon your Browser type:
      • Chrome:
        • Open a new tab and type:
          • chrome://settings/
        • Under 'Privacy and Security' click on 'Cookies and other site data'
        • Under 'Sites that can always use cookies' click the 'Add' button and add the 2 *.primaryschooltuition.co.uk websites mentioned above
        • Refresh the tab of the classroom site.
      • Safari (NOT recommended to use this Browser as it is know not to work properly):
        • Go to Preferences / Privacy and uncheck the 'Website tracking / Prevent cross-site tracking' box - IMPORTANT: Once you have finished on the pst website you must check the box to stop cross-site tracking.
